Over the years of her undergraduate degree, Madeleine was also the recipient of Undergraduate Student Research Awards from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), the Canadian Society for Chemistry Silver Medal, the Norman S. Madeleine is honoured to be the UNB Chemistry recipient of the 2014 SCI Canada Student Merit Award. Outside of her studies and research interests, Madeleine contributed to the teaching excellence at UNB as a laboratory demonstrator, and she enjoyed being part of the UNB Faculty of Science community as a Peer Mentor for the Science Student Leadership Program and as an executive member of the Undergraduate Chemistry Society. She spent her time during her undergraduate degree studying medicinal chemistry as well as being actively involved in organic synthesis research toward natural product targets as a member of Dr David MaGee’s research group. Madeleine completed her Bachelor of Science Honour’s degree in Medicinal Chemistry at the University of New Brunswick (UNB) in 2014. She achieved this award for obtaining the highest standing of her class in the fourth and final year of her degree.
